Hands Only CPR

Hands Only CPR:

CPR is one of the most effective ways to treat someone having a possible cardiac arrest. In order to properly administer CPR, follow these steps:

  1. Call 9-1-1, or have someone call for you. The 9-1-1 dispatcher can also assist you with care if needed.
  2. Place the heel of one hand on the center of the person’s chest, with the other hand on top.
  3. Push down hard and fast aiming for a rate of 100 to 120 compressions per minute.
  4. If you feel tired, switch off with someone else if available.
  5. Continue compressions until emergency services arrive.

Hands-Only CPR can double or even triple the chances of survival for someone in cardiac arrest. With these tips, you can properly administer Hands-Only CPR when needed.
